COVID-19 Updates

May 22, 2021:

Mask Update
The PBSA has removed the mandate to wear a mask for all activities unless traveling to another district that does require wearing of masks.  From here on out, unless further guidance is given, the wearing of masks is optional.  If you or or your child feel safer or more comfortable wearing a mask you are free to do so.

Quarantine Rules
Any athlete that has potentially been exposed to Covid and has been asked to quarantine must follow the updated guidance from the Allegheny County Health department and CDC which states:

Quarantine can end after 7 days if - with careful daily monitoring - you do not develop symptoms and test negative (PCR preferred) for the virus. The test should be performed on the fifth day after the exposure or later. Quarantine cannot end before Day 7. If you have not received a negative test by Day 7 you must remain in quarantine until you receive your negative test result or until Day 10.

January 15,2021:

The PBSA will be moving forward with signups and registration starting on the above date for the spring season. We will still utilize the social distancing rule and masks being worn by the teams while in the dugouts, plus all spectators to be wearing masks as well. If anyone is NOT feeling well, please stay home for the safety of the players, spectators and for yourself as well. With following the CDC and county guidelines, we will have a safe 2021 Spring season

August 6, 2020:

The PBSA contracted with It's All Clean to disinfect and sanitize all dugouts after the reported case below.  This work was completed on Wednesday, August 5.

August 3, 2020:

The PBSA has recently been notified of a positive COVID-19 case.  Out of an abundance of caution and in adherence to recommended guidelines, we are canceling all PBSA in-house and travel practices/games through Wednesday, 8/5.  This will allow us enough time to thoroughly clean and disinfect the complex so activities can resume Thursday, 8/6.

July 28, 2020:

The PBSA has received a few inquiries regarding players and coaches traveling out of state during the COVID-19 pandemic.  The PBSA will continue to follow the Pennsylvania Department of Health and Governor Tom Wolf’s directives when it comes to matters related to COVID-19.  For those traveling during the season out of state, the guidelines can be found at the following link - https://www.health.pa.gov/topics/disease/coronavirus/Pages/Travelers.aspx

Additionally, any player or coach who has direct contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 should follow the Pennsylvania Department of Health guidelines found here - https://www.health.pa.gov/topics/disease/coronavirus/Pages/Symptoms-Testing.aspx

The PBSA is asking anyone who has knowingly been exposed to COVID-19 to follow the guidelines above as well as either:

1.) Receive a doctor’s note allowing them to return to play and be around their teammates

or

2.) Obtain and present a negative COVID-19 test

The PBSA is doing everything possible to ensure the safety and well being of all coaches, players and spectators during these difficult times.  If you have any questions regarding the above, please feel free to reach out.
